Bridge Weigh-In-Motion Solution
Bridge-Based Weigh-In-Motion Technology
Bridge Weigh-In-Motion (B-WIM) systems measure vehicle weight by using the bridge structure itself as the weighing platform. Sensors installed beneath the bridge deck capture structural response as vehicles cross, allowing axle loads, gross vehicle weight, vehicle speed, and classification to be measured without disturbing normal traffic flow.
How the System Works
- Sensors are installed beneath the bridge deck without cutting the road surface.
- Structural response is used to calculate axle loads and gross vehicle weight.
- Vehicle speed, axle spacing, and classification are measured simultaneously.
- Suitable for a range of concrete and steel bridge structures.
